Hmmm... did anyone watch the Piers Morgan interview with Rick Santorum on CNN Friday night?

Although I do not agree with his agenda/policies - he appears to be VERY smart regarding the issues including foreign policy (more than any other GOP candidate that I've heard), human, and likeable.
I think the GOPers may have screwed up by not paying enough attention to him.

Also, I know that he and his wife have gotten a lot of flack in the media and on blogs regarding taking their dead baby son home - but his wife was on the show also and explained that they took him home in the middle of the night so that they could have a mass. She was a NICU nurse and at the hospital she worked they had a room where families could spend time with babies that passed away, so taking the baby home to spend time with him was not anything out of the ordinary to her.

If Santorum were able to separate his religion from his policies then he might be a bit dangerous to the Democrats regarding the election, but since he can't and won't I think we have nothing to worry about

Obama-Biden 2012
all the way!

And if a ritual with a dead child were the only thing wrong with Santorum I'd think about agreeing with you.

and since I get up really early I did see parts of it, and I agree with you.
Although I dislike his politics and his positions on everything, I have to admit that he is very charming.
He has a pleasant demeanor and he attractive in a kind of stuff-shirt way.

Setting aside my distain for Santorum, I can honestly say that Republicans need to be barred from the White House and the Senate for at least 20 years.

People will gain a full understanding by next January of what Citizens United is capable of.

He got nasty with some of his audience in NH - not the way you look "Presidental" in these parts.

he sounded sane and looked pretty normal.

OF COURSE I think that NO ONE other than President Obama should win in 2012,
BUT if for some reason a GOPer were to win - I think that Santorum might be 'less crazy' and 'less dangerous' than Gingrich and Romney.

He looks at least a decade younger than 53.

I didn't see the show you're talking about, but he does seem kind of a nice man... except for his insane belief system.

Except for his bilking a Pennsylvania school district for his children's education in Virginia; except for using his charity as a pass-through to help his friends and himself; except for his K Street corporate welfare work; except for saying that Americans receive too many government benefits and ought to “suffer” in the Christian tradition because suffering isn't a bad thing; except for thinking that killing Iranian scientists is wonderful...otherwise, what a likeable guy!

There IS no separating Rick Santorum from his religiosity. In 2002 he attended an Opus Dei event in Rome, during which he attacked JFK’s belief in church-state separation, saying Kennedy's vow not to enforce Catholic doctrine through civil law has caused “much harm in America.” Santorum's trip was to address the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Opus Dei founder Escriva's birth. He was interviewed there by the National Catholic Reporter and said he was an admirer of Escriva—who is recorded as having whipped himself until the walls of a bathroom were splattered with blood and once wrote: "Blessed be pain. Loved be pain. Sanctified be pain...Glorified be pain!"

Santorum is mad as a hatter, and corrupt down to his toes.

Unilateral transfers and foreign assistance. It's his strict, misogynistic religious social agenda that will do him in with voters because it makes him appear limited in his thinking.

He is an excellent public speaker, very polished, and he's not physically ugly.
