2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumChristie is running for president in 2016 and he is the Republican establishment's choice
I wish him well with this procedure, and I hope that his health improves. However, let's make no mistake about it. He did it now because he is going to run for presidenti in 2016, and it also explains why he didn't run in 2012.
Christie/Rubio 2016.

(19,348 posts)Rubio could be at the top of the ticket. He and Christie are the powerbrokers choices. They would consider Jeb, but they know we have too much to go after him on.

(20,450 posts)He is only slightly better than the average Republican in Congress. He may be moderate on some (very few) issues, but his anti-goverment philosophy has nearly destroyed public workers in the state of New Jersey. I wish Democrats weren't so gullible and willing to support him.

(12,287 posts)Clinton/Christie is in the works. We hear Hillary is going to go right and hawkish and there is also a speaking engagement with her and Christie at the Clinton Initiative. Remember when everyone was talking about McCain asking Lieberman? Maybe this is the one to use that gimmick.

(28,749 posts)No need. Really a good liberal VP would be nice but since the role over the last few decades has been largely symbolic doesn't matter a ton.

(3,003 posts)On the other hand, Romney was from Massachusetts with a VERY moderate record and yet he won the Republican Party nomination. So, who knows?

(5,067 posts)He's in for the total presidential makeover - lap band surgery - new diet - and of course the all important swing to the extreme right. I really think this joker lacks any meaningful long term values. He's just another member of the "what's in it for me" wing of the republican party.
