Pfeiffer to Fox News host: ‘Offensive’ to suggest Obama let Americans die in Benghazi

By David Edwards
Sunday, May 19, 2013 10:15 EDT

White House Senior Adviser Dan Pfeiffer on Sunday told Fox News host Chris Wallace that it was “offensive” to suggest that President Barack Obama had allowed last year’s attacks in Benghazi that killed four Americans.

In an interview with Pfeiffer on Fox News Sunday, Wallace explained that there were “lingering questions” about where the president was and what he was doing on Sept. 11, 2012 when the attacks happened.

Pfeiffer pointed out that Republicans had been spinning a “series of conspiracy theories,” but the president had been updated about the attacks throughout the night by his national security team.

“Was he in the [White House] Situation Room?” Wallace pressed. “Do you not know?”

“I don’t remember what room the president was in,” Pfeiffer replied. “And that’s a largely irrelevant fact. The premise of your question is that there is something that could have been done differently, okay, that would have changed the outcome here. The accountability review board has looked at this, people have looked at it, it’s a horrible tragedy what happened. What we have to do is make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

“No one knows where he was or how he was involved or who told him there were know forces,” the Fox News host insisted.

“The suggestion of your question is that somehow the president allowed this to happen,” Pfeiffer observed. “The assertions from Republicans here that somehow the president allowed this to happened or didn’t take action is offensive. It is absolutely offensive. And there’s no evidence to support it.”

It would seem to me the most important concern would be to investigate plans to prevent the attacks in the future. These are plans in which should be behind closed doors with people capable of handing security issues and that would probably not be any congressional committee. Congress should look at the cuts made to security in the state department, point the fingers at themselves and know there are some things which can not have corners cut on. This questioning is another of Faux news ways of feeding their base to make them feel good about nothing or at least nothing to do with a solution.

That's why they keep trying to hammer that lie. With the 6 hour time difference it makes no sense. He was obviously awake for the first attack as we are six hours behind. All action had seemed to cease at that point. There was a 2nd attack with mainly mortars at 5 am so he probably was in bed at that point. One point of note is the two Americans that were killed in that quick attack made a mistake of staying stationary under mortar fire as the first round which they saw burst 40 yards to the front of them was a searching for target round used for estimating distance. With mortars the 2nd round is almost always on target. The third will be super tight with fire for effect coming usually after the 2nd round. Those guys may have lived had they moved position after seeing that first round in front of them.

I was listening to hannity Friday and that was the line he was taking and trying to get his guest to say it.

It's his MO...he leads his guest down a certain line and tries to get them to say the dirt...so he can't be blamed for it.

They feel it is either a black man let white people die or everyone is covering up for the black man who didn't do his job.
