Poll Shows Controversies Haven't Hurt Obama’s Approval Ratings

By Daniel Politi | Posted Sunday, May 19, 2013, at 12:46 PM

President Obama may have suffered one of the worst weeks of his presidency, but so far it seems the public isn’t letting the controversies that have engulfed the White House affect their view of the president. At the same time, the CNN/ORC International survey also suggests Republicans “are not overplaying their hand” when it comes to the controversies considering that Americans take the issues seriously.

The survey conducted Friday and Saturday show 53 percent of American approve of Obama’s job performance, an insignificant increase of two percentage points from a poll conducted last month. And while more than 70 percent of Americans say the IRS targeting of conservative groups is unacceptable and serious, 55 percent contend that the agency acted on its own and more than 60 percent believe the president’s statements on the scandal. As for the controversy over the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, only 42 percent is satisfied with how the administration responded, and 59 percent believe the attack could have been prevented, an increase of 11 percentage points since November.

Earlier in the week, Gallup reported that only a slim majority of Americans said they were following the IRS and Benghazi scandals closely, below the average of 60 percent that regularly claim to follow news stories. Yet the push on the controversies by GOP lawmakers makes sense considering Republicans report they are following the stories far more closely than Democrats and independents. And most Americans—74 percent for IRS and 69 percent for Benghazi—insist the scandals are serious enough that they should continue to be investigated.

that many Americans have really been tuning in and paying much attention. While the GOP is crying "wolf" again, most people are like "yeah whatever...just some more bogus GOP outrage. Nothing to see here."

Workaday people just don't give a shit. They don't have time for this, but that doesn't mean the president's detractors will stop. They can't.

A new scandal™ for the GOP: President Obama's approval rating up to 53% in new CNN/ORC poll

Gallup has bad news about Obama's bad week. How bad was it? Well, BHO's job approval went up, that's how bad it was. http://www.gallup.com/poll/113980/Gallup-Daily-Obama-Job-Approval.aspx

"not overplaying their hand"? We'll see about that. What do they call getting busted for altering emails? Even though the crook is to much of a coward to come forward?

Here America has an arrogant political party; The Republicans here openly with grandstanding diligently supported by the Mainstream Media have declared that they the Republicans will make President Obama a one term president over and over and over again his first term. Recall, in both elections the media was surprised by the leading margins Obama won. The media always saying the elections are going to be close. They were not.

Listening to hate radio even years ago WLS Hannity, Mark Levin, Chuck Cunningham, Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingram, and just about every cable television station, CNN, FOX, MSNBC, O’reilly Blitzer, Mathews, Maddow talked about his “religious believe” wildly filled with hatred to determine Obama is a Christian or not. Where was he born?

Month’s and Month’s on his first term, the phony scandals of birtherism. Acorn, a FOX News set up. Reverend Wright used as an ugly person in religion, totally used race as a political tool, especially with Obama’s father as a radical of South Africa Kenyan, with his poor brother that lives in a shanty in the Huruma slum in Nairobi. WOW…my own future is not so great either here in the states I will likely retire into poverty.

Months of Bill Ayers pictured as a trader to America, University professor, friend, and former leader of the Weather Underground. Sean Hannity went politically insane on the Bill Ayers smear along with Limbaugh. All supported by Cable news personalities. Or Gitmo trials, in New York that was an ugly Media buzz.

The housing stock market derivatives scandal, ridiculed and chastised for the attempt at saving general Motors, everything and anything the Republicans did for the past thirty years to blame Obama include the two wars had scandal rhetoric rather than reporting the facts, profiteering, mercenaries, torture, and shutting down Gitmo to name a few.

Here is my point, they the media is doing it again helping the Republican’s slam and jam Obama. Just think about it, if you were president you would want every government department running on all eight cylinders doing their job. One huge important point anyone in that position should think about.
O.K. you go after the president of the United states, we play by the rules, you heard Obama say it over and over, play by the rules. The only way to do that is to make sure all departments are working in the best interest of the electorate according to law.

That might mean to look into any all organizations whatever the name especially with the ties to any form of Al Qaeda.

Here Ladies and gentlemen of America is the kicker, for decades the Bin laden family and other leading members of the Arab Emeritus have been dancing around the American money machine without the media making any suggestions or connections, the most famous is the Bin Laden Bush family investment partnerships, never, ever, mentioned with depth and money value in the last decades.

However profoundly in print news and books and on the Internet the Bush family has been profiteers in war from the time of Prescott Bush to now to include Poppy Bush, and George in war profiteering in spades. They helped the Arabs sack the America treasury. That’s what the Republican Party is terrified that will be exposed.

Conclusion is the media as we know it must change or move forward with the embarrassment in the fact the mainstream media is all a key player in cover ups. They are the first to be questioned it not when the president knows it is when the media knows.
