3. Let's not kid ourselves

The Republicans could nominate Jack the Ripper, and as long as he has an "R" in front of his name, he'll get 45% of the vote in Virginia as a bare minimum. Sure the ticket will do badly in northern Virginia, but with Rove and the Kochs pouring in money like there was no tomorrow and southern Virginia ready to vote "R" without even looking at the names of the candidates, much less what they stand for, this race is anything but won.
