Pay attention to Colorado!
It’s gotten so bad in Colorado, now even the local Fox News affiliate is calling out the lies in right-wing TV ads and accusing Republicans of using a “scorched Earth approach.”
Right-wing groups have used lies and scorched Earth tactics for years, but this time is different because Colorado’s recall rules actually encourage it.
The recall ballot question asks a simple “yes or no,” with no way for voters to punish Republicans for crossing the line. Without the risk of voter backlash, Republicans can fight as dirty as they want – and that’s exactly what they're doing. If it works in Colorado, they'll bring these same tactics to swing states across the country.
The NRA and Americans for Prosperity are well organized. We cannot afford to take this recall with a grain of salt. I have family in Colorado, and they would be negatively affected by the flipping of the state senate.
