The other part is that the Republicans thought by taking another week off, they'd manipulate Obama into doing something rash and they could impeach him for Stupid's crimes.

You'd think they'd realize by now that's not going to happen.

If it's just a slap on the hand for doing something heinous in the past, it could be done at any time.
It never was urgent. It's all propaganda to get the public all riled up so they can get support.

no need to do that . Congress has made it clear it will NOT return before their vacation from doing nothing is officially over . Even if they would , makes no difference , they still will do the usual : obstruct , and NOTHING !

And actually I think it is. There is zero importance in attacking Syria and continuing to interfere in the Middle East.

But the earliest he could have called Congress back would have been Tuesday or Wednesday. The UN report has not been released yet. They will only have 3 weeks before their next vacation. Not a hell of a lot of time. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

exit Wed. night wouldn't give them enough time to deliberate and could be used as an excuse for more squabbling, producing nothing.

We should give it enough time so everyone has their say. No harm in that...

I mean after all, for days and days now we've been told that President Obama was going to turn Syria into a sheet of glass and start WWIII.

He wasn't going to wait for the UN report. He wasn't going to get Congress to approve. The Warmonger and Chief was going to rush us into "war".

It was definitely going to happen Thursday. Well, Friday before the holiday ... ooppss ... over the long week-end. Definitely, absolutely. BOOM.

At least that was DU's common wisdom.

Now, if you listen to the President's statements this weekend, he has all of the forces he'd need positioned where he would need them. He has the potential targets for a strike already determined.

There is no rush. He's ready and could go now, tomorrow, next week, even a month from now. Of course, he never said he was in a rush in the first place.

The media was in a rush. DU's knee-jerk contingent was in a rush ... a rush to declare the President the most evil President since Hitler.

Now, the President has waited for the UN, and he's getting Congress to take an official position (something that they would not need to do if he said he was NOT ready or willing to strike).
