Related: About this forumWhat if Senate (D)s attached Immigration Reform to the Budget Bill?
We got 68 votes for it in The Senate. If The House (R)s want to tie defunding the ACA to the budget then why shouldn't Senate (D)s tie Immigration Reform to their version of the bill?
If nothing else, it would be something that can be stripped out in committee. That way each side can say they lost something. It would also bring Immigration Reform back into the conversation and that tends to be good for us as a whole.
Turnabout is fair play. I say if they want to play this game, then we play it.

You have to teach these people that the debt ceiling isn't a bargaining chip they can use to extract concessions from the Democrats. "Do what we want or we'll shut down the government" isn't compromise. Compromise is "okay you want to cut the federal budget by x amount, fine. We'll agree to that if you agree to pass an increase in the minimum wage." That's compromise...
