Hillary Clinton quietly slipped into Miami on Thursday to address a travel agents convention in a speech where the former secretary of state said little about troubles abroad or the future ambitions of the likely presidential-race frontrunner.

At one point, a member of the audience, Andrew Rothberg, had his Galaxy Note II smartphone taken from him by security, which removed his picture of Clinton onstage and then gave his device back in front of a Miami Herald reporter in the auditorium stands.
Its crazy, Rothberg said.
Thats American politics, said a docent, one of a handful of hotel security and volunteers who roamed the aisles looking for people taking pictures or making recordings. None was allowed.
I wanted to take pictures for my girls; I have four girls, Rothberg, who was writing a piece about the conference for Boca Raton-based Grey Matters Magazine, told the Miami Herald. I think Hillary Clinton who is probably running for president in 2016 would want all the publicity she could get and I think its kind of ironic they would take the camera away.

(13,616 posts)Hillary, it's a good thing you are not officially running yet, because this would easily be your first gaffe. You are still giving many of us here an excellent reminder that we need to make you crawl through barbed wire come primary time.

(30,247 posts)Her security detail are SS agents. I doubt that she would have known that some hotel security guard took this man's phone and deleted a pic.
This place is becoming as bad as a RW site.
question everything
(47,479 posts)Nick Merrill, a media liaison for Clinton, tells the Erik Wemple Blog: We dont know what the story is referring to, but whatever it is, nobody associated with Secretary Clinton was part of it security or otherwise. So youll have to ask the host about this.

I was just watching, in amazement, how the Republicans are now split and ready to destroy any chance of them winning, Usually it is the left - worldwide - that tends to split and miss the main goal.

(30,247 posts)Her nomination would not depend on their votes, although not everyone here is opposed to her candidacy. I just had CNN on and they were talking about the interview she gave to New York magazine. I haven't read it yet, but apparently it's the first time since 2008 that she publicly admits mulling whether to run or not.
We'll just have to wait and see. personally, I don't think that she's going to announce any decision until after the 2014 midterm election. Bill already hinted as much.

I fully support Obama and love him. But I would love a Hillary presidency just as much. I hope she decides to make a bid for the White House in 2016.

(22,000 posts)allowed. If so, then it's fair game. The question is was that made clear to people upon entrance. I'm not defending Hillary Clinton, just to rules that were allowed in the conference.
Edit: Per post #4 there were instructions, therefore I believe deleting the picture was not wrong.
