Does anyone here believe...

That Pres. Obama could agree to a one-year delay in Obamacare's implementation as a compromise to avoid a govt shutdown and/or debt default? I think he would be absolutely foolish to capitulate on this and am praying he won't. What do the rest of you think?

I mean somewhere other than CNN, Fox or Chucky Toad on MSNBC.

Because I wouldn't put too much faith in those sources.

that the majority of the Bush tax cuts got extended. Anyway, President Obama has repeatedly said that
he won't negotiate on the debt ceiling issue.

4. No. The Republican governors have had almost five years to get used to it

and, along with the insurance companies, to streamline setting it up.

Giving in to their temper tantrums is not the way to implement it.

other parts will come into play over the coming years. sure republicans will try their best to screw Americans as their investment profits drop, but that's just business as usual for todays RWingers.

Like with social security these large programs take years for everything to fall into place.

October 1 and so should we all. Obamacare is rolling out on October 1, so the GOP can go straight to hell and so can all the other ODSers. Obamacare is here to stay. Now let's work to improve it and push for the public option.

It's pretty much a done deal at this point.

If he gives in, just like giving into terrorists, it will encourage them to be bolder next time.
And it will, literally, kill some ill people who are looking forward to *finally* getting real treatment.

But I am not completely confident that he has the steel to remain firm.
When the pressure cooker is about to blow he has always given in to letting off steam and I will not be surprised if he does it again.

And if he does this time, he will totally lose the faith of everyone who has supported him up to now.

I'm part of the spearhead group implementing ACA in California. BOATLOADS of money has already been spent creating the exchanges, and the infrastructure to make them accessible. There is no going back now. Even a delay would be a huge waste of money.

He could agree to a one year delay in the mandate. All other aspects would move forward. I don't think he'll do it, that would be too much of a trophy for the GOP. But it would be the easiest thing to do and would barely affect the implimentation of ACA.
