Why did Gingrich even bother to show up at the WHCD last night?

Because he's a pig, that's why!!
He thinks this is "all about him".

I can't really fully express myself with words just how much I despise that fat tub of goo.
I know Romney isn't stupid enough to make Gingrich his vice presidential running mate, but man, I'd love to see the 2 of them up on the podium, acting as if they like each other after all of the crap they have thrown at each other for the last year or so.

WHCD = White House Correspondence Dinner, for those who don't know.

Best I remember they were at each others throat the whole primary then they hugged and made up. Pukes are funny that way. Your enemy is my enemy so that makes us friends. The hell with the lot of them

said that I really wish it had been McCain to get the nomination. I didn't think he would be that bad. He had to have despised Bush, especially over the S.C. primary.

I knew it was too much to ask for McCain to primary Bush in 2004. I sure thought he should have though. He played ball because it was "his turn" next. That system really doesn't work well for them. They have to be careful of that in selecting Rmoney's running mate. That can potentially put someone at the front of the line.

Having the flashbulbs pop and people shout his name, or people looking at them as they breezed by. Attention whore-ism. He just can't pull himself away. And evidently he finally (maybe?) settled down with someone of like mind.

The DC insiders, the celebs, the wealthy.

So, yes, of course Gingrich would be there.

To be a target of the jokes and to impress on him that his sole legacy is as a target of jokes.

Historian? Bah!!!

The only elections Nooooot has ever won were his very red district in suburban Atlanta...a place he jetisoned long ago for the bright lights of Washington. The dude made his name on the teevee and it's the beltway stenographers that have kept his morbid "career" alive. He knows he needs these people to keep his scams going and to turn his combination presidential bid/book tour into even more money. I'd rather see Nooot and his manequin there than a serious candidate. He's back in his element...
