May be it is the problem with healthcare.gov (they try to do too much online), but it is absurd to claim the two websites do the same thing.

(22,651 posts)people could just call the insurance co. & sign up and be done. have their health insurance and get their tax discount applied without even having to register on healthcare.gov.

(13,992 posts)I hope they get some advertising and can make it pay off for them. It doesn't do everything the the government site does, but if you're just shopping for quotes, it could hardly be any easier.

(16,974 posts)Good site but does it interface with the government databases and insurance companies? Can you sign up for coverage? Good browser but hardly as complex as the real thing to actually sign up for insurance.

(16,974 posts)It is very easy to link a phone number. Much harder to interface with many different forms of databases used by the government and insurance companies to allow online one stop sign up. It may have been better to allow the browse function then link to the insurance sites but how the does the government verify your eligibility for subsidy amount.

(1,957 posts)I think what we have is 2 examples at opposite ends of the tech spectrum.
Kinda like a comparison between a top of the line Mercedes and a Nano.
Each can be said to be "better" than the other but they use a different yardstick.
