Related: About this forumOfficial Enroll America Response to O'Keefe Video On Navigators
Enroll America is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to, "maximize the number of uninsured Americans who enroll in health coverage made available by the Affordable Care Act." Battleground Texas' mission statement is simple, turn Texas into a battleground state. O'Keefe attempts to blur the line by using actors and editing sloppily cutting video clips from various events together. As evident from the screenshot above taken from a rightwing blog, his attempt to confuse the already confused is working. It doesn't help that many who are most susceptible to these fear tactics are ready to believe in almost any conspiracy theory involving President Obama. This blogger apparently believes that "Battle Ground Texas (sic)" is "funded by the feds" to train health care navigators, but then again that was the point of the video, right?
The truth is O'Keefe is a fraud and amatuer impersonator who was arrested and, "charged with entering federal property under false pretenses for the purpose of committing a felony. (Huffington Post)"

(145,231 posts)I am not sure why anyone would believe o'keefe. He has been proven to be a liar and fraud on numerous occasions Here is another good analysis of O'Keefe latest attempts http://www.newscorpse.com/ncWP/?p=10884
However, his reputation for producing video fiction is fully intact. In the new video he sends in a shill to pretend to inquire about enrolling in a health care plan. In the process, the shill attempts to trick his unsuspecting victims into giving bad advice. However, we cant know for sure whether they did that because the videos are so heavily edited that there is no way to discern the actual context. Also, the people OKeefes shill spoke with werent certified navigators, but were in fact trainees. So the prospect of them making a few mistakes shouldnt shock anyone.
In one case, though, it is apparent that the navigators did not do what OKeefe accused them of doing. OKeefe alleged that the navigators advised the shill to misrepresent his income. In reality, they simply told him to report on the ObamaCare website the same amounts he reported to the IRS. Its his responsibility to file his income taxes honestly. But the conclusions drawn in the video conceal that. Thats just one example of how creative editing can distort the true picture of what occurred.

are the types that still think, despite the evidence, and all but a notarized statement signed by Jesus and Ronald Reagan might not even convince them, that Obama was NOT born in Kenya.
(corrected - and a BIG thank you to "life long demo" !!!!

(375 posts)It wouldn't be "descending to his level" because the point would be that anyone with a sufficient lack of scruples can make someone else look bad by heavily editing a video. The people doing it wouldn't have to pretend that they were stating the truth. "Sir, James O'Keefe has said that your video leaves out important context!" "Why Ashleigh (or Wolf), you overpaid dim bulb, of course it does!"
