This could be big.

Governor Rick Scott has already said he would take the Medicaid expansion money for three years. I think the senate has some people that are prepared to play and are prepared to shape some kind of a framework for taking the Medicaid money, she said.

(3,073 posts)It's an election year and Florida happens to have a rather enormous number of seniors who vote (when the Repugs aren't disenfranchising them). Leaving them out of medicaid funding would be suicidal for Scott's re-election and he knows it. He's already behind - and the Dems have already started reminding people about his turning down the funding. So- happy for those who will get some help- but not happy if it means anyone would be stupid enough to fall for Scott's tricks.
I so hope this is the last year we have to deal with this monster.

(1,576 posts)i fear that he'll remain and he'll be championed as a great man for combating his addiction, his "honesty" to deal with it and his "commitment" to his constituents. I also had the creepy thought about how Scott is dreaming up new ways to defraud the system as he has done before (caught but he never paid the price). I can almost see the dollar signs in his beady little eyes.

PBO will have all the Red State Governor Scrooges come a knockin' at his door, in this case, the back door, slinking in to have a little off-the-record government largesse money chat. Repent, I say!
