(Reuters) - Republican Senator Ron Johnson planned to file a lawsuit on Monday challenging "special treatment" for members of the U.S. Congress in the application of President Barack Obama's healthcare law.
Johnson, of Wisconsin, wrote in the Wall Street Journal that the Obama administration exceeded its legal authority by arranging federal subsidies for members of Congress and their staff under the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare.
"The president and his congressional supporters have also broken their promise to the American people that Obamacare was going to be so good that they would participate in it just like everyone else," Johnson wrote. "In truth, many members of Congress feel entitled to an exemption from the harsh realities of the law they helped jam down Americans' throats in 2010."
Unlike millions of Americans, he wrote, lawmakers and their staffs can receive employer contributions to help pay for their health insurance.

I think Ronnie has hired himself a new "advisor" from the Koch Kadre to get himself some more face time in the press - been more visible lately, much to this Wisconsonite's disgust.
Isn't this subsidy a Chuck Grassley amendment? Correct me if I'm wrong, but maybe he should just consult the guy across the room in his very own caucus room....

(375 posts)To be fair, I just don't know if Ron Johnson is really as stupid as he seems, or if he cynically thinks that most of the voters are this stupid. For that matter he might pathologically just not care about what the obvious truth of the matter.
If I were him I would watch my coffee, because a member of his "grateful" staff just might "accidentally" stir in salt, instead of sugar.
