Report: Hillary Clinton Met With Strategists About Possible 2016 Run

HUNTER WALKER – JANUARY 6, 2014, 10:47 AM EST

Hillary Clinton reportedly held a meeting with three consultants from the political firm Dewey Square Group last summer who made a presentation about what she would need to do to prepare a 2016 presidential campaign.

The meeting was revealed Monday in a report by Politico journalist Maggie Haberman, who detailed some of the moves Clinton has made to prepare for a possible run.

The report said the meeting occurred at Clinton's Washington home and focused on "filing deadlines in certain states," "how much money Clinton would need to raise," and "how field operations have become more sophisticated in the era of Barack Obama."

"It appears to have been the only formal 2016-related presentation Clinton has been given from anyone outside her immediate circle," Haberman wrote.

Also, just because Hillary leads the polls now is no guarantee she'll win the nomination.

Historically the person who polls strongly in a democratic presidential primary often loses the nomination, unless they're vice-president.

She's going to try to lock up all the money and endorsements before she announces. I think if we don't get an alternative she's what we'll be stuck with. I've already stated I won't vote for her in the primary. Then again the primary I vote in is in mid-May so it may not matter.
