Asked about former NBA player Dennis Rodman's bizarre appearance on CNN Tuesday, White House press secretary Jay Carney said he had nothing of substance to offer.
"I'm not going to dignify that outburst with a response," he told reporters at a daily press conference.
Appearing on satellite from North Korea with other former players, Rodman refused to acknowledge the status of Kenneth Bae, an American missionary who is being held prisoner in the country.
Carney added that Rodman and company traveled to North Korea on a private trip, and that as a matter of policy the United States "does not vet private travel."

Apparently, private citizens can go to nuclear armed, death-to-America spouting North Korea, but not to Cuba. I guess maybe the Cuba policy has changed very recently, but only very recently.

(22,000 posts)to visit mainland North Korea. The other way that people could visit could (but is not anymore) overland in South Korea they had tours to both day tours Kaesong (which is just to the northwest of Seoul) and to overnight tours to Kumgang Mountain (which is on the east coast of North Korea) and the visas are issued directly by North Korea.

(145,218 posts)Rodman is crazy and does not live in the real world. The only time that he is on TV is when he is on Trump's program (which has been getting horrible ratings).
