That victory was due to John Kerry's debate/oratory skills, more than Shrum's work.

Of course, most political consultants are worth less than the politic ans they work for.

Christie just needs to deny until the next interesting thing happens. This will only have legs if more people come out with other retaliatory reprisals, and I bet all the bullying homework was done on that score during the last two days.

He did not start taking it seriously until December - if he did not know the details it is fair to say he did not try very hard to find out either. And then there was his willingness to buy the "traffic study" story when everyone else was starting to say, "Yeah right."

This is far enough away, that unless Christie gets thrown off governorship, this will probably do no lasting damage.
