The republicans want to take their country back...

....waaaaay back!

That's why I thought President Obama's campaign slogan "Forward, not back" was so brilliant. I think every Democrat running for office should use the same slogan. It packs a lot of punch, in my opinion, when you consider the party they are running against, and it will have a resonance with young voters.

it's the PEOPLE'S country. It belongs to everybody- of all ideologies and beliefs. It is no more a Republican country than it is a Democratic country.

even when they talk about getting back to "traditional values" and "limited government" like it used to be here in America. What they forget to mention is that when all that happened we had strong unions, strong worker's rights laws, much higher taxes, corporations actually paid taxes, and on and on. They don't just want to go back in time, they want to go back to an imaginary time.
