Biden on 2016: ‘No Obvious Reason’ Not to Run

At this point in the 2016 race for the Democratic presidential nomination, the question isn’t so much can anyone beat Hillary Clinton — it’s will anyone dare run against her?

One Democratic campaign aide said Mrs. Clinton has effectively “frozen” the party’s stable of donors, meaning few people are prepared to write checks for other prospective candidates until Mrs. Clinton declares her intentions.

But one person who doesn’t seem deterred is Vice President Joe Biden. In an interview with CNN, Mr. Biden said, “There’s no obvious reason for me why I think I should not run.”

Mr. Biden won’t be making up his mind any time soon, though. His timetable is the summer of 2015, he said, for when he’ll make a judgment as to who is “the best qualified person.”
