Benghazi is about one thing and one thing only.. stopping Hillary

failure ...your name is Republican party

I do not see how they think this tactic will win in the end.

And the most adamant of republicans I sometimes interact with socially (not tea party, I know some, but we never talk politics) are saying.. not this stuff again..

Maybe they are trying to get us to keep our eyes off of 2014.. most likely that is the reason.. nothing else make a lick of sense.

They have a big need for an issue in Novembef. Attacking the ACA doesn't seem to be working out for them taking over the Senate and ultimately impeaching and removing Obama.

5. They may be able to get the votes to impeach, but they will never get the votes to remove

Impeachment only requires a majority vote in the house, it then goes to trial in the Senate and they vote on removal from office. To remove from office they need a 2/3 vote, even if the Republicans were to win back the Senate there is absolutely no chance of them getting 67 votes in the Senate to remove from office.

Impeachment would turn out to be a very good thing for Democrats, the overreach would boomerang on Republicans and they would pay for it in future elections while Obama would finish his term with a higher approval rating than he has now.

7. Impeachment is a non-issue right now.

because the GOP leadership knows they will look like fools. In 98 Democrats actually picked up seats in the House because, among other things, they made Clinton a martyr.

10. Agree on they could impeach, but no way will they have the numbers to remove

However, I am not sure it helps the Democrats. If they are grandstanding daily speaking about Benghazi, even if there is no culpability, it is a tragedy that does not make the Obama administration look good.

It is very possibly true that the Clinton impeachment - even though CLINTON ended with a higher approval - did hurt Al Gore. The economy was still up, though there was the start of the tech bubble ending, the country was at peace and there was NO call for change. Gore was seen as one of the most productive VPs. Remember that Bush ran on restoring honor and dignity to the WH. (Even though Gore was an Eagle Scout and he had been a mean drunk until he was 40! - without the impeachment, I doubt this could have happened.

And the guy who used the word Dude on Faux was on. He said they are doing this so the Teabaggers won't throw poo on them if they are fighting Obama. They want a poo fest at Obama.
