Know your Congressional Wingnuts: Louis Gohmert edition

Gohmert frequently makes what are almost certainly off-the-cuff (albeit dumb) remarks, and when called on them, defends them to the death rather than admit he was wrong.

The best example of this is the "terror babies." Gohmert repeatedly claimed that terrorists were impregnating women, sending them to the US, waiting for the babies to be born as "anchor babies," flying them back to wherever they came from, waiting twenty to thirty years so the babies can grow up and be trained as terrorists, and then sending them back to the US where they can gain easy entry to blow up the country. He first introduced this idea in a speech on the House floor in 2010.

2. The guy is a moron

Texas is full of them. I live in Dallas, which is as blue as blue can be. Yet somehow I am stuck with another East Texas moron as my Congressman ( Jeb Hensarling). Ol' Jeb is just as stupid, he just prefers to be less vocal about it.

The gerrymandering here is outrageous. Thankfully it has come to the courts. I'm not so sure we will get a just outcome.

Texas has been a test bed for the very privileged. It wasn't that long ago we were a Democratic stronghold. Be aware, it's coming your way.

3. I'm from Dallas in another gerrymandered district

Our rep was the very able Martin Frost until he was gerrymandered out of a job. Instead we have the very ignorant Pete Sessions, who is sort of like a Louie Gohmert except with a passing grade from grammar school, and less LSD in his drinking water.
