I am going to predict this right here right now for 2016 and 3 senate races

Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania
Ron Johnson of Wisconsin
Mark Kirk of Illinois

All 3 of them will be GONE GONE GONE in 2016 - One and done senators!

All 3 of them picked up Senate seats that were formerly held by democrats and all 3 of them that are in states that have gone democrat for US President the past several elections.

In 2012 Bob Casey PA-D, easily won re-election in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin elected the very first openly gay senator with electing Tammy Baldwin, another Democrat. And Dick Durbin IL-D always wins big in Illinois.

These 3 states went red because of the Tea Party surge of 2010 and that was a mid-term so there wasn't any big name candidate on the ticket, like Obama, to pull out the voters.

All 3 will be gone in 2016. We just need a strong Democratic nominee for President and smart candidates for US Senate. I'd love to see Allison Schwartz or Kathleen Kane run for senate in Pennsylvania!

Corbett has pulled down the entire GOP in PA.
Kelly Ayotte would be in alot of trouble if Maggie Hassan runs. If John Lynch runs, Ayotte would be crushed.

I would rather see Kathleen Kane as U. S. Attorney General.

The axis of politics in Pennsylvania right now is Sandusky/Paterno.

She won her job for no reason other than visceral hatred in the state for what happened to JoPa and whoever the D was going to in that job then, just as Wolf is very likely to beat Corbett - who would EASILY win re-election if he was not blamed by PSU's core republican constituency for forcing the JoPa firing.

Kane has not been great in office so far, and the tone from the public from her "investigation" into Corbett has not been great. She is generally seen as a lightweight who got the job because of the circumstances.

She has no chance at a Senate run, she is going to be lucky to win re-election if the Rs get a solid candidate.

You can't use Casey as a measurement. His name is absolute gold, he has won big in every race at the state level because of his father. AND, he rode the BO wave AND was running against Santorum, who was such a raging dickhead the State just wanted to get rid of him.

Toomey is a much more understated and palatable guy (publically) and more the kind of R who can ride under the radar in this state.

Sestak is probably the best bet, especially lining up in a Presidential year.

The criminal you call 'JoPa' happened to others. He was the perpetrator. What 'happened to' him was justice too long delayed.

I live in the heart of PSU territory and while I respected the man I never worshipped him.

My point is based not on MY views on it, but based on the POLITICS of it.

He absolutely allowed it continue, no debating that if you aren't a rabid PSU fan.

BUT, for the sake of Pennsylvania politics, that point is not relevant.

Not surprisingly, the PSU fanbase is overall a mostly conservative institution. Their bizarre loyalty to JoPa and rationalizing away of Sandusky is prototype republican thinking. Just completely in line with it.

I stated and I stand on the point. Corbett is going to be the first one term governor in this state in my 50 years for one reason only. He has been a republican scumbag since BEFORE he got elected, sold out the state to natural gas, had a HORRIBLE blunder with the lottery system, driven a ridiculous voter ID law that has been overturned, the list is too long to note.

But, NONE of that would matter except that by all account he drove the decision to fire Paterno - which made him dead to a marked chunk of his republican base.
