Tom Corbett.

The state legislature which has a Republican majority across the board must be hearing a bunch of complaints from their constituents about Corbett's funding cuts to social programs and education. They are attempting to mitigate the damage of those cuts through budget negotiations. That makes me believe that the Republicans have once again overplayed their hands and are running scared.

The voter ID law that was recently signed has been challenged by a 93 year old woman who has no documentation that would enable her to get an ID. The ACLU has filed a lawsuit on her behalf.

They all need to go.

Oh, if Mr. Obama only had that same "problem".

THAT is how big of a douchebag the man is.

We have not seen a one term PA governor in my life, but Corbett is trying his hardest to be the first.

7. Corbett has lots of skeletons in his closet..

When he was attorney general of PA,
he covered the first allegations of Sandusky abusing
little boys at Penn State...

Corbett also has angered parents for massively cutting
funding for special education programs...

and angered cities and religious groups because he
has cut funding to prevent homelessness,
and programs that help the mentally ill.
Cities and outreach groups can't help them all
by themselves..

It's going to be interesting seeing how all this unfolds,
but to see so much here in PA being flushed away,
it's disheartening.

the cuts to funding AND being the man most feel is responsible for Joe getting canned.

PSU is a pretty nice chunk of the republican vote in Pa.

These folks are going to be REAL conflicted in two and a half years.

And, as you noted, there are few at either the school district level or collegiate level who are going to be ready to pull the level for him again.

IF the Ds can put up a real candidate, he/she has a shot.

I hope there's a potential Democratic candidate in the wings waiting to run against Gov Gashole when his term is up but he has 2 1/2 years left to continue to destroy my state. If we're lucky the PSU scandal will seal his fate.

9. If PA's voter ID law is upheld think again, it'll cost us several points here

While PA's voter ID law is being challenged in court, I personally don't hold much hope that it'll be struck down for a few reasons.
-Such laws have been upheld in other states.
-If it makes it to the PA state supreme court the GOP has a 1 vote majority there, so we probably lose.
-If it makes it to the US Supreme Court (I doubt it, no matter which side wins in federal court) then we probably lose there to, since the right wing judges don't think making things really inconvenient is an unconstitutional attempt to deny people the right to vote

That's going to make it tougher for Obama and democrats to win statewide by robbing us of a bunch of votes in south eastern PA, where democrats have to rack up huge vote victories to win the state.

The state leans Democratic at the federal level, it's not really a swing state like Ohio and the like.

So of course it's an uphill battle.

In Philly suburbs, Not too many bumper stickers out at all. What few there are go Obama. There is an odd t party sticker.

When u go out to Lancaster, there are no stickers for any one. Lancaster is heavily Republican.

Haven't seen an Rmoney sticker at all.

Obama has got a ground game going on in Philly suburbs. Weekly meetings. Haven't seen any Rmoney meetings.

There are t party meetups however.
