Every year, another right is taken away from us

Voter rights, abortion, civil forfeiture, corruption....... The list goes on and on.

This country is going to hell in a hand basket. The politicians and lawmakers are only in it for themselves, and screw everyone else.

What ever happened to the land of the free? Justice and liberty for all? THE AMERICAN DREAM? I never in my life would imagine this country going in this direction. And when you talk to the far right assholes, they don't have a problem with any of this. Its downright sickening. I feel so sorry for our children and grandchildren.

What we're seeing are the direct, predictable results of an uninterested, unengaged, and uniformed citizenry.

We "the people" expect our elected politicians and lawmakers to do the right thing for the betterment of the country, not the few. They are not there to take more rights and freedoms away from us. I will hand it to you, not being involved does not help. But we put these idiots in there, and we have to get them out. It's like any other job. If you fail, you get fired. Lately though, it seems that a lot of these actions are taken by the far right assholes. I am so fed up with it I could scream.

President's Prayer Breakfast in 1952. The malicious cancer of Christian Dominionism has apparently metastasized since that time to both Parties and the highest Court. Look up "New Apostolic Reformation theology movement" for the horrific details, or buy this book on Amazon:

Jeff Sharlet's "THE FAMILY: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power," 2008 Harper Collins

Bigoted, fearful, self-interested people elect bigoted, fearful, self-interested leaders.

Most of us on DU might believe passionately that the answers to abortion, voter ID, civil forfeiture, and campaign financing are self apparent. But from the state of Tennessee I can tell you with confidence that there are large numbers of voters who believe just as passionately in the opposite view.

the GOP is inhumane. I have always said "the GOP is all about me, me, me". These a$$holes prove it more and more everyday.

Bush destroyed the economy, and the GOP continued to throw our country under the bus with Obama behind the wheel. If we let these aholes win in 3 weeks, I am very afraid as to what their next steps will be to continue to throw the lower and middle class even further into recession and depression.

the GOP shows exactly how hypocritical it can be when it comes to the Constitution and people's freedoms. You can't say that you love the Constitution and that you are an advocate for freedom if you're trying to make voting (a Constitutional right) more difficult for certain communities to exercise.
