Ladies & Gentlemen, the Wisconsin Recall election NEEDS YOUR HELP!!! It's not far off the mark to say that everything we are as a nation is at stake here. If we lose this, we stand to lose MUCH, MUCH MORE in the future! PLEASE HELP!! Wisconsin needs your help ($$) to finance its ground war against Scott Walker. If you will assist in this, I will pledge my personal donations, however small, to you. I am sure many others on the DU board will do likewise.
If you do not help in this hour of crisis, I assure you also that I will give you nothing, for I will have nothing left to give, and you will be bankrupt--morally, if not financially.
That is my promise.

(28,151 posts)I know if I had any pull at the DNC there would be a policy in force that would have people scanning obscure discussion boards on the internet for actionable item suggestions/ultimatums from anonymous posters.
How do you know there are no DNC resources going into this? Has there been any statement issued to indicate whether or not the DNC will be involved?

(6,960 posts)When its representatives still called me, I would talk about DU, Bartcop, Commondreams, etc andadvise them to read progessive sites, get a feel for what people thought. They were clueless about such sites. All they wanted to know was how much I could donate while they pushed their stupid questionnaires.
I told them I would never give to the DNC again, but rather give directly to candidates. Also asked that my name(s) be removed from their lists which they finally did.

* A day after Wisconsin Democrats aired their frustrations with the national party, the Democratic Governors Association announced that another $700,000 was sent last week to fund a Greater Wisconsin ad buy and Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) has announced a trip to the state to campaign with Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett. Barrett faces Gov. Scott Walker (R) on June 5. (Update: The $700,000 is included in the DGAs already-announced $2 million investment.)

(94,520 posts)Can you point to a stand-alone race that Dean helped us win? Because that wasn't his job and wasn't what he worked on. He focused on fund-raising and Party building at the State and Local level. Which can help win races like this, but isn't something you do three weeks out.

(94,520 posts)It doesn't pick candidates.
It doesn't fund candidates.
It raises money, works on State Party building and organization BEFORE the elections happen, and develops the rules for all the Party units (DSCC, DCCC, DGA, etc) to work under.

(28,151 posts)Don't know much about how the DNC works or much of anything else politics-related works. They just know they vote and damn well better get instant results!1!

(45,319 posts)"The Democratic National Committee promotes the election of party candidates with technical and financial support. The DNC works with national, state, and local party organizations, including elected officials, candidates, constituencies, and grassroots volunteers across the country."
It sure does not list raising money as job one, nor do they state that they promote only prior to an election cycle. They are being asked to contribute the exact forms of support they state as their first defining activity.
