news even ran a spot on early voting and did they name the location, dates and hours? Hell no! What kind of news reporting is that? There's that "who, what, when, where and how" thing that every sophomore in a journalism class could tell you has to be in the copy! Copy being the stuff they read to the camera for people that don't know news reporting terms.

I posted the info everywhere I could.

be posted on the web page. The election day polling places, sample ballot and everything else was on there but not the early voting information. Coincidence? I think not! That could be an intentional omission buy someone that would rather we not make use of it. I saw the link to the tv news story and thought that would tell me. No such luck. I ended up calling and asking. It was where I guessed it probably would be, where I had early voted before.

The oversight by the tv news girl was probably inexperience. It's a little local station. They are probably lucky to make enough to eat and buy their clothes. We don't exactly get the cream of the crop.

I could accept losing if we were actually in the minority, but when we lose, it's almost always because some progressive-leaning people didn't bother to vote. Until we convince every part of the Democratic base that midterm elections are just as important as presidential elections, we will continue to suffer.

GET OUT AND VOTE!!!

Turnout in midterm elections are about 25 or even 30 percent less than that of voting in presidential elections. That doesn't mean subtract 25 or 30 percent from the 55 or 60 percent who participate in presidential cycles. That means that 25 to 30 percent off that 55 or 60 brings it down to about 40 percent of eligible voters determining 100 percent of the U.S. House, one-third seats from the U.S. Senate, and more than 70 percent of the nation's governorships.

In September, Nance Pelosi was interviewed by Bill Maher on his HBO program. She mentioned some alarming fact about so many people not even being aware of the existence of midterm congressional elections. Well, every adult is required to report earned income when filing taxes annually. Maybe this country needs to require eligible voters to participate in voting in elections. That would make everyone aware.

Turnout determines which party wins a given midterm. That's why we keep hearing about the opposition White House party typically prevailing. Well, in 2002 the incumbent party prevailed. Essentially the case from 1998. So, it's not guaranteed that the opposition party has to always win the day. So, my thoughts are, "Why should we excuse the Democrats for saying they're bad at turning out the vote in midterms? They certainly didn't fail back in 2006."
