It's not like there'll be much danger of "governing," regardless of what happens.

I honestly don't see how anybody can vote for these Republican jerks. I mean, how can anybody vote for Lindsey Graham? Or Nikki Hayley? But I know they will.

God damn it will be an awful 2 years if we lose the Senate on Tuesday. I'm holding my breath but I'll confess to not being hopeful.

If what happens on Tuesday is what I fear will happen, keeping the White House in 2016 will be a difficult chore.

We have our long time doom and gloom crowd, and a whole lot of "new' doom and gloom posters. I wonder how many of the "new" doom and gloom crowd will vanish after tomorrow? Of course will still have our long time doom and gloom posters. They never seem to go away.

i have seen it theorized that if we lose the Senate on TUesday night we lose the Pres in '16.. could happen i guess.. if that happens, we are in for some really dark times that we may not get out of for years...

but I think the opposite is true. The GOP won't be able to keep from overdoing it and turning the country against them. Party moderates might try to hold back the Tea Party tide, but they'll fail.

Some thought that when the Democrats took control of Congress after the 2006 midterms, the Republicans' chances of keeping the White House in 2008 had increased, and the GOP got smashed in 2008. The Republicans may play it smart and keep a quieter tone between 2014 and 2016 and then go all out should they sweep the 2016 elections. The real problem the Democrats have for 2016 is that historically the White House changes hands every eight years. Only once since WWII has one party won three consecutive presidential elections (and the primary cause of that was Mike Dukakis running the shittiest campaign in history ). And if the economy turns south before the 2016 election, we could be in real trouble. We need to rally together starting on Wednesday, donate $ to the Democratic Party so they can get organized and lay the ground work for the greatest get-out-the-vote effort EVER in 2016.

is inevitable. How will she convince folks that she'll be better than Obama after they rejected Democrats in 2014 and Republican redistricting scheme has us screwed until 2020?

That's why so many of us have been very upset about 2010. Election 2010 fucked us up really bad. People don't understand just how horrible they fucked up by failing to stay engaged after the 2008 election.

...and besides, one NEVER knows what's coming down the pike (We could be looking at a months-long wait to see who controls the Senate, for instance).

Whatever happens, we care about the big picture and the long term, and that dictates what we have to do.

Democratic voters have to understand that midterm elections are just as important as presidential elections are!
