"Democrats have their Schlitz Beer Reckoning" from over on Daily Kos
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/11/05/1341978/-Democrats-Have-Their-Schlitz-Beer-Reckoning
The Schlitz Beer saga, the story of how America's once favorite beer altered its hallmark recipe disastrously while seeking short term profits at the expense of quality and reputation, has always seemed to me to be analogous to the modern Democratic Party of the last decades.
I have often wondered these past few years - when will the message and role of the Democratic Party become so watered down, so diluted, so unpalatable and unrecognizable from its former self that the public, even the most loyal customers, simply stops buying it? I think we're there. Don't blame the public, Democratic Party - blame your own executives for short-sighted expediency, blame substituting inferior ingredients and blame changing your brewing process. In short, you have failed at every level. Learn from this debacle, or repeat it.

1. Nope. They won't learn from it.
The message will always be that we didn't move right enough.
The message will always be that we didn't appeal enough to "values voters" (ie. evangelical Christians). The message will always be that we need to cut taxes. The message will always be that we need to cut social services. The message will always be that we didn't "ME TOO!!!" enough. |

2. Precisely,
because too much money is made by consultants who advise them to go to the right. And remember who will be the presidential candidate in 2016, HRC!!
Though at this point, with this electorate, she has gone from "done deal" to "The Next Kay Hagan". |

5. easy even Bernie Sanders said "we have to defend
The progress we have made"
And we didnt do that....."we" seem to think that punching Democrats is the path to victory.. ..apparently...."we" were wrong... Punching ourselves in the face doesnt make us look like winners ....and much of the wishy washy middle vote for who they think look like winners....last night that wasnt us Now it will be an uphill battle for several election cycles... Gee thanks for all the help "democrats" |
