2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIs this what Romney is up to with all his vague talk about success:
We had Conservatives running for election in Canada a year ago and all they would say is that they were for a 'strong, stable, national government'. They said little about their policies. In fact they went into detail hardly at all. 'Strong, stable, national government', 'strong, stable, national government', 'strong, stable, national government', 'strong, stable, national government','strong, stable, national government', 'strong, stable, national government','strong, stable, national government', 'strong, stable, national government', And they won. Could Romney be doing the same thing? Because he knows details of his policies would be unpalatable with the American public? If so what is his mantra?

The Romney campaign is going to ask to vet the questions for each debate beforehand.

(797 posts)Canadian conservatism would be considered downright socialist by American standards. As for Harper retaining power i thought it was more to do with the buffoon like character he was running against in Michael Ignatieff.
The next Canadian election i think will see Thomas Mulcair of the NDP party take over the leadership as Harpers time is done but up till now there has been no one else to vote for.
As for Romney? unless you are one of the 1% class Romney will destroy whats left of Americas middle class, vote for him at your peril..
