When is the general public ever! going to understand that it is the wealthy and powerful

are the problem? Republicans create more human misery than any other group I know of.
You who are still comfortable going to stop the living hell you tolerate? Because it is not happening to you it doesn't matter?
Every Republican should have their name and address listed in public so we can stop supporting their businesses
WHAT is keeping a rational caring people fro putting a stop to the hell Republicans have created and are going to create for the common man?
They are pretty damn confident they have the peasants on the run, so much so they even don't hide some of it.
What the hell is wrong with this country? Didn't they teach you that the reason we broke off from England was that the government and CORPS were bedfellows? Or did they stop teaching that?

The media are almost entirely corporate and thence, conservative. And the human mind is incredibly susceptible to repetition. Hear it often enough and you will believe ANYTHING.

It has been this way as long as I have been alive. The American public for the most part is misinformed and can't even tell you the three branches of government. You would be shocked at how many can't even tell you who the Vice President is.

be the dominant ones in deciding what news Americans will hear or will not hear. If Democrats
do not begin to join together and combine their resources in competing with the Republican news
media on a grand scale, the Republicans will always have the advantage in keeping the American
public ignorant and voting for the Republicans.

And some Democrats are by nature a rather apathetic lot - to their own detriment.

This is the reply from a republican in a string in a sport related message board.

"Again, their were laws/acts passed and wasnt done without Congress. Its going to get challenged in court regardless, as it should."

This is someone who is an engineer, and otherwise is a pretty well informed and reasonable poster relative to the sport and team for the message board.

I had made a response to the basic stupidity of the original post about POTUS using executive action and pointed out, with a link, the prior presidents, including republicans, who had done some same thing.

This person responded to my response and I had responded directly to him with a conversational post that I once again reposted the numerous prior presidents who had done the same and reposted the link to the page with that information.

And, the above was his response.

I see this every day with countless people I know who are really good people, intelligent, decent, kind, giving people, who when it comes to politics are absolute idiots.

And, you can't rationally change their minds. You can lay things out clearly, factually, in a reasonable way, not arguing, just try to patiently explain it, and it does not make one bit of a difference to them.

I was mystified in the 90s when people around me hated a good and likeable president for such bizarre and twisted reasons as they did with Clinton, mystified how people ginned up pathetic rationalizations for supporting Bush II, and honestly at this point have just resigned myself to accepting that they are going to have a vile hatred of a really smart, decent and good president in Barrack Obama.

"America is half-starved to death for a source of news that is truly INDEPENDENT from..."

In it I suggested that if we could bring up the idea to wealthy Democrats who
are known to be philanthropists, that they could join together, combine their resources,
and start a big, first-class news media company that would compete with the present-day
90% Republican-owned news media, we could stand a chance of having a better
informed America.

psychopathic billionaires are deliberately destroying democracy in our nation in order to
change it into a Fascist Oligarchy -- with themselves as the lords and masters, and the rest
of the people will be their serfs and slaves.
