Gohmert warns America: ‘It’s going to devastate this country’ if I’m not elected Speaker of the House

Gohmert predicted that up to 30 percent of Republicans could “abandon” the party if Boehner was not ousted as Speaker.

“They are so fed up that we are not fighting for what we said, and if we don’t show them that, it’s going to devastate this country,” he remarked. “We could have another Democratic president in 2016. We have got to show the American people that they don’t need to abandon the Republican Party. There are people in the party that are willing to stand up and fight for the very things we promised we would do.”

“And we can do those things. We can put Obama on the defensive just by completely getting rid of the Internal Revenue code,” Gohmert added. “We can do that.”

If the democratic caucus can rally behind Gohmert and get him elected speaker, we are virtually guaranteed a total implosion in the GOP ranks. They wont be able to get anything done and will further ridicule themselves in the eyes of the public. This should setup the stage for a huge sweep in 2016.

that this mental midget actually believes that being speaker means that he gets to stand at the dais and verbally spew his ideological swill and expect it to become law. Given his chronic absence from the House floor, he obviously doesn't understand his job as well as lacking the understanding of what the job he wants is about.

I almost feel sorry for someone who is that fucking ignorant... almost but not as much as I feel badly for his constituents.

They are not working for the people's government, they are working for kleptocracy. It's why they have no respect for the process of government, nor do they keep their word to the American people.

Their reward is a percentage of the loot they can pillage the public treasure for their bosses and far, far in excess of their congressional pay. This is something we need to get real about regarding the clown posse. It's why they don't give a ham sandwich what we say.

They are doing contract work fo the Koctopus and they will get great pensions and perks to go with that. The supply of money to pay them off is unlimited.

And when you get the kind of wealth they are gambling for, they won't be forced to pay attention or follow any laws. That is what the extremely wealthy have always done.

Someone else here asked up on this topic thread if this article was from The Onion.

That's why I included the link to the Faux Noise clip, where you can actually see him say it.

He's a total joke, in a way, but he is also for real and his brain is that dysfunctional.

define "Public Trust"

The concept of the public trust relates back to the origins of democratic government and its seminal idea that within the public lies the true power and future of a society; therefore, whatever trust the public places in its officials must be respected.

One of the reasons that bribery is regarded as a notorious evil is that it contributes to a culture of political corruption in which the public trust is eroded. Other issues related to political corruption or betrayal of public trust are lobbying, special interest groups and the public cartel.
