I for one say let's end the Filibuster now.

Think about it.

Since the GOP took control of the House back in 2010, they have done absolutely, positively NOTHING but sponser laws and pass bills that they knew absolutely well would never ever go anywhere. They did this utter bullshit because it catered to their crazy supporters who cheered on that these crazy recalls of Obamacare and infringements into woman's privacy were passed. But let's face it - the GOP leaders aren't stupid, I have to think that John Boehner and Mitch McConnell somewhere, somehow have the basic ability how to count and how laws are passed in DC to know that all those stupid laws they passed in the House were never going anywhere. They were nothing more than show to entertain the tea party masses and then die a painful death in the senate. All of this at the expense of the taxpayers dime.

In the end these useless bills that went absolutely nowhere helped to rally their GOP supporters, brought Congress to a stand still and frustrated the rest of America as they wondered why nothing got done. In 2014 the Tea Party came out in droves and voted and the rest of us stayed at home thinking 'why bother nothing ever gets done'. More republicans were elected and less democrats were sent packing. But it wasn't because the GOP actually passed any new laws but because they tried to pass laws that excited their base - laws that in the end would never ever get passed.

So personally I say let the GOP have it - give them the control. Force them to actually govern and make them be responsible for the bullshit laws they actually try to pass on America (and did so knowing full well that they would never become law because the Senate would block it).

Maybe it's time we wake up the rest of America and let them see what happens when you stay at home and do nothing on election day. In the end I have to think the absolutely worst of it passed by the GOP would be veto'd by Obama (or just passed by Executive Decision).

It's about time the GOP owns their Bullshit.

back Congress in 2016 then get rid of it. Then we could pass voting legislation and an amendment to overturn Citizens United along with campaign finance reform.
Then we could launch a real progressive movement and take back state government.

4. The Senate decides on its rules, and only the Senate.

Harry Reid changed the rules to stop the most heinous of Republican abuses. The Republicans can change their rules anytime the want.

I would like to see us hold the White House and regain control of both houses of Congress.

That depends on whether Democrats get out and vote.

5. Dems might get the Senate and the WH but will not get the House

The congressional districts were gerrymandered to death post 2010 (especially in NC). I do not expect a blue House until 2022, unless (and this is very unlikely) some judges in multiple states realize that it ain't democracy when politicians get to pick their voters.

IMO this is why Obama wants to get rid of it now - when the Dems can use it.

3. At that point, it is only President Obama's Ink Pen that stops the bullshit from running down hill.

However, if the Republicans think it is such a good idea, they can do it any time.

Also, there is a limit to what an Executive Order can do. It can't affect anyone not working directly for the government. It can not create new programs. It can not raise funds.

And Bills vetoed by the President will keep their supporters going.

No, as long as they keep the veto, the worst of the bullshit should not pass through congress.
