(32,324 posts)Telling Kerry he should not attempt to deal with the uncounted votes in Ohio.
She has cared about herself more than the American people and that one thing alone shows who she is. If she had been willing to let Kerry win the presidency, which might have put her aside in 2008 (But then she didn't get very far in 2008 either) all of us would have been spared the four more years of George W.

(130,895 posts)or if I did, I deliberately suppressed it! Have been angry with 'professional Dems' for failing to assert them/ourselves about those elections for years.

Thinkingabout
(30,058 posts)I did not see any hint of how Bernie is planning on enacting any of his plans so nothing here to tell me Bernie is going to be able to handle the position of president.

(12,655 posts)and an experienced senator NOT prepare him to be president? he has more than sufficient experience to be president. he has experience, she has experience. other than the obscene amounts of money she will get from corporate 1% ers and the assumption that she has this in the bag, there is no reason one or the other should be assumed to be the nominee.
Thinkingabout
(30,058 posts)Hillary. I am beginning to think the best informers of Hillary and her experience, etc are the ones trying to trash her. Thanks for keeping me informed.

(12,655 posts)she is obviously well qualified too. what i object to is the assumption by the msm that the dem nominee has already been determined when the process has just begun. my ire is at the msm and their presumptive attitude not towards a particular candidate. they should be encouraging all candidates to share their ideas and debate the issues not rush to make someone nominee-not their job. they are trying to crown jeb bush as the repub nominee. i don't care for that either.
Thinkingabout
(30,058 posts)but I read other posters claiming the same thing. Allow the primary to do the work it is designed to do, allow the candidates to sell themselves and we will vote, msm will not be in the voting booth with me.

(12,655 posts)they won't be with me in the booth either. i do worry about the so called low info voters and how they could get swayed to thinking things have been decided before they are.

(22,000 posts)1) Campaign finance reform has been squashed and candidates will be able to raise unlimited funds due to Citizen's United. Not getting that turned around before the presidential election is going to turn out to be a huge mistake.
2) None of the candidates running against Hillary Clinton this time have the charisma, expertise of staff, or organization to pull off what he did. Trust me when I say I wish one of them did. Hillary Clinton has been collecting money and hiring up almost all of the talented people. She has the deep pocketed supporters that can afford to give the limit for both the primary and GE as well as the PACs that will support her.
3) The only major opponent Hillary Clinton has at the moment is Bernie Sanders (not withstanding O'Malley who has not officially entered the race yet) who is getting no where near the press coverage Barack Obama did at this point in the election cycle 8 years ago.
4) All five potential D's alternatives (Sanders, O'Malley, Webb, and Chafee) are all white males. Why personally I don't think it matters, some will make an issue of it. I do want to see a female president in my lifetime, just not the one that is currently running.
While I want someone to enter the race that will compete with Hillary Clinton like Barack Obama did in 2008, I don't see it happening (barring someone else entering the race other than O'Malley, Webb, or Chafee). The challenge for any of those five will be to become the solid alternative to Clinton.
