'Americans will never vote for a socialist'
I keep hearing this tired talking point over and over again when people discuss Bernie's candidacy, but it's just not true.
Newsflash: Republicans in 2008 and 2012 successfully convinced over half the country that Obama was a socialist. And guess what? He still won-- by a lot. The only people who cared were Tea Party lunatics on the right... they won't be voting for Clinton anyway.
People seem to forget that Republicans overused the word so much that it doesn't have any effect anymore. Socialist, so what? Where do they stand on TPP?
This election will be about ideas, not about what you decide to be 'called.' And for that reason, Bernie DOES stand a chance.. Americans WILL vote for a socialist.

The last real Socialist in Politics here in the USA was Senator Burdick from North Dakota. Seems to me he was elected and reelected to the Senate some seven or eight times. Bernie is a old time 1940's Democrat.
