Elway Poll of Washington State: Obama leads by 8
Washington state Republicans are rallying around presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, but President Obama still has a comfortable lead here, the latest poll by Elway Research shows.
The poll conducted June 13-16 found that 49 percent favored Obama, compared to 41 percent for Romney.
That's a gain of three percentage points for Romney from an Elway poll conducted last February. Obama's support remained the same.
Elway also noted that Obama remained under 50 percent in a state he won with 57 percent of the vote in 2008.
The poll surveyed 408 registered voters statewide. Its margin of error is plus or minus 5 percentage points.
In the poll, 88 percent of Republicans said they would definitely or probably vote for Romney, while 91 percent of Democrats supported Obama.
Obama led in every age category and every income bracket. The candidates were essentially tied among men, but Obama led by 16 percentage points among women.

(I know Elway is considered a top pollster in WA, but 408 voters only?)
