Newt's Revenge!

We've all seen some movies about a scientist who was spurned by his peers, and then went on to carry out his experiments and threaten the world as we know it. I think Newt is living out this revenge fantasy. He's a mean enough S.O.B. to do it.
Perhaps his early motivation in joining the race was just to increase his speaking fees, or to sell a book like Herman Cain, but when he was the flavor of the month a while ago, his ego rose to the challenge. Now with a victory under his belt, he's gone full attack dog.
Should he actually win the nomination, the GOP would have a meltdown, at least that's what their talking heads infer. I'd like to see it, but it has its risks. I would prefer a Mitt candidacy because there is no underestimating the ignorance of the republican voter. I would like to believe that the more Xian voters would never support a Morman, but I see no problem with these hypocrites supporting a TRUE conservative regardless of his past.
Nancy Pelosi thinks she has some dirt on Newt. I doubt if it matters one iota to a teabagger.

As for an open convention handing the nomination to someone not now in the race, I think that would be a disaster for the GOP as well. It would be like telling the Republican voters that their votes don't mean spit.

I keep telling you the preplanned clown car will drive into the convention and the Bush limo will drive out.
The real power behind the Repocons will assure that their man is nominated. And I guarantee, it will be a Bushie.

Whether it was his original plan or not, he is certainly firing all guns at anyone who comes in range. Surely he knows his own negatives, and he has gotten no respect from politicians or pundits. His ads and comments look like he has engaged in a scorched Earth policy, with the GOP as the victim. TPTB in the GOP need to take him out, though I hope they destroy each other in the process.

He is definitely mean enough.

I wish them both success in destroying each other, a fitting end to their reign.

But their actual number is small, relative to the general electorate.

At this point the Republicans may want to heed Ronald Reagan's 11th Commandment, or this whole nomination process has the potential to spiral downward out of control. As if President Obama isn't hard enough to challenge, biting their noses to spite their faces isn't the best strategy at this point for the Republicans vying for the nomination.
