2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumTwo quotes I think are important:
One, from a political analyst on some radio show, the other from Nicole who was filling in for Randi.
"The Republicans are more excited about defeating Obama than the Democrats are in reelecting him."
I have to agree with that. That's why all those who swore they'd never vote for Romney are singing a different tune. It's not about Romney at all, it's about defeating Obama.
"Where's the proof that tax cuts create jobs?"
Why can't we just ask the next Republican who furthers that falsehood that question? "Where's the proof?"

I remember when the "Nobama" and "Anyone But Obama" slogans came out. It was as early as 2009. Some people just hate him on principle.
I don't think this is a reflection on the Democrats, as much as it's a reflection on Republicans. And it reminds me how crucial the Independent voters are.
For some people, even hating Romney would not keep them from voting for him. You just have to hope that those people are not in the majority in the swing states.

(3,503 posts)One person one vote; someone in a swing state should not be more important than someone in a decided state. Though the bad part is I'd be bombarded with political ads that I despise.
