Who else thinks this ad is equivalent to the 1960s daisy ad?

(53,061 posts)better than the 1964 daisy ad because it has Romney providing the sound and the facts are more substantial.

(26,355 posts)When I was working on my Poli-Sci degree, one of my classes spent time analyzing classic attack ads, including Daisy, Willie Horton, Bush's "Tank Ride" ad against Dukakis, and so on.
This ad is one for the history books - it is absolutely brilliant, and my bet is that it will be devastating against Romney.
It's several hits in one - hits him on Bain, offshoring/outsourcing/killing jobs, on his hiding his money off-shore, it slams his patriotism. It has a lot of subtle elements - the bad singing, the "speakerphone" sound in the office scene triggering memories of office layoffs, the empty factories, him singing "America! America!" to a Swiss flag.
Better buy stock in Maalox - the entire GOP's popping them right now!

(24,736 posts)There's the scary echo chamber, the hollow, flat, as you say, empty office space, that corresponds nicely with his flat singing.
I would have loved to been a fly on the wall when they put this one together!
