Related: About this forumGestetner Updates: Analysis: How The Romney Campaign Screwed Up Expected Israel Trip
There are no words to describe how well the Romney campaign screwed up with one announced fundraiser an entire important visit, that could of been a defining moment in the presidential election, in courting the Jewish vote.
As first reported in the Jerusalem post, Romney planned to hold a fundraiser in Jerusalem. Yet noticed by the editor of Gestetner Updates and others (such as myself ) that the event was supposed to take place on the day of Tisha BeAv. But after numerous bloggers and operatives raised their concern about the naivety of the Romney campaign, in planning a Jewish fundraiser on one of the most sacred days of the Jewish calender a mourning day commemorating the destruction of the Temple the campaign backed down, sending reporters to a tweet (info probably leaked unofficially by the campaign) that the fundraiser was cancelled or is not taking place on July 29th.
While the Romney campaign was surprised by the outcry, they were not aware of how to react to the misstep taken. First, they denied the planned event, but then drew back the denial, only to make sure that the event will take place at night, since they are highly aware of the sensitivity of the issue.
What they cannot hide or try to shove off by shifting the conversation over the VP rumors, is the idea that they can play with our minds and fool us once again.

(37,451 posts)1. As been said before Mitt has no foreign policy or concerns for any ...
country or other religious practices except his own. How bad is his campaign staff if they didn't know this??? They only had to look at a calendar, thats right its on it.

(26,219 posts)2. Wait - they scheduled a fundraiser on Tisha b'Av? In Jerusalem?

(50,950 posts)3. Doesn't scheduling also require an agreement of fsome type with others?
In this case, I would think it would require activity with someone connected with these Jewish supporters. So why didn't any of these Jewish supporters in Israel put Romney staff on the right road?
