(55,981 posts)everything economic and foreign policy. The Conservative Democrats figured out that they could support all the terrible economic and foreign policy issues as long as the threw in a concession to social justice once in a while. They figured they could fool lots of people and they are right.
Republicons are the obvious enemy but we need to worry more about those Democrats that want to sell us out to the corporations.

(18,998 posts)And the GOP helps them out by taking outrageous position on social justice issues to make us think we are winning something.
They play the game of good cop bad cop with us and it seems to work.

(55,981 posts)that the movement that Sanders has fired up will recognize that our work is merely beginning. We need to take back the Democratic Party leadership and elect progressives and stop enabling the damn blue dogs.

(33,688 posts)has repeatedly said that the oligarchs would be perfectly happy with HRH or Heb.
What does that tell you about Clinton?
rhett o rick
(55,981 posts)if we know their plan. What does that say about Clinton supporters that pretend not to recognize that she represents the 1%. Her support comes from the 1%, her friends are in the 1%, she and Bill are members ($100,000,000) of the 1%.
She may speak of social justice but her passion is for wealth and wealth for Goldman-Sachs and wealth for the 1%.
Sanders wants to fix our college debt problem, our infrastructure problem, our min wage problem, etc. by make the 1% pay their fair share of taxes. When Clinton is asked how to solve these problems she wants the middle class to pay. That clearly will continue the growing wealth inequality.

(34,582 posts)It is infuriating. In economic matters, the parties differ little. They differ on social issues, but Wall Street doesn't give a damn about those. So, to protect some social issues (because the Supreme Court is a big fucking deal) we HAVE to vote for a person who is more than ready to screw us economically. The age old "lesser of two evils". And the rich keep getting richer. Is it any mistake that Chelsea married the person she did?

(33,688 posts)The problem is that back in the 1990s the Clintons and the DLC started auctioning big chunks of the party off to the plutocracy. And that process has never stopped.
Bernie Sanders, Martin O'Malley and Liz Warren are the last train out of Dodge.

Those should be sooner rather than later, and more not less.

Grandma immediately chimed-in "Don't listen to him...he's been full of shit every day of his life."

(80,708 posts)You look at someone like Debbie W-S, she's clearly running this mid 1990s script where "soccer moms" are concerned about "teh drug menace".
Sadly, she's not the only one, either.

(94,544 posts)Has she stopped anyone from campaigning?
Has she stopped anyone from being interviewed?
Has she stopped any reporters from covering anyone's races?
Has she refused to allow anyone to speak before the national or State parties?
You may now resume your hyperbole.

(94,544 posts)she scheduled an arbitrary number which is different from your arbitrary number.
She also made a decision that the audience for debates six months before voting starts is likely to be very small, absent the availability of a clown show. An opinion I tend to share.
