(10,303 posts)That is the question.
Let's set aside a moment the matter of who will win the nomination. Yes Ms. McCaskill and Mr. Castro are supporting Ms. Clinton. My gut feeling is that they will support Mr. Sanders, or whoever the winner of the Democratic Party primary election contest is. Whether they'll get all enthusiastic about it if the nominee isn't Ms. Clinton is another matter. But I'm 99% certain that they'll vote in the general election for the Democratic Party nominee.

(11,495 posts)Will support him. As will those on this board who are Clinton supporters. The only people I have seen here on DU that say they won't vote for the nominee unless it's their candidate that wins are those who also "claim" to be Bernie supporters. I wonder why that is?
Simple, they don't want to vote for status-quo. I agree with them.

(11,495 posts)DU is here to promote democrats, help them get elected. So if they only want "their" candidate and refuse to vote for anyone else, why are they even here?

(30,058 posts)Hillary, some say they will have to hold their nose to vote for Hillary, oh and the names pinned on Hillary, corporate Democrat, war hawk, it goes on and on. Also remarks like Hillary has had twenty five years of exposure in the public. Actually it is Twenty three years and if this is bad then twenty five years of national experience must be worse.

(37 posts)Hillary is in the general. Actually, if Bernie doesn't win the primary, my vote is going to Jill Stien. People say those things about Hilary because they are mostly true.

(22,308 posts)That was a huge embarrassment for the party and the Clinton wing in particular.
If/when Hillary loses it will be time to defend the legacy of the Clinton name and fade quietly into the background.
And for all those people who think that they can see into the future just to crap on a hypothetical question:
Updated yesterday, the trend continues. Those polls you said were outliers, NOT!

At that point there are advantages to backing the candidate that just could be president and in a position to be of assistance.
For the folks who love log-rolling and quid-pro-quo it wouldn't be -pragmatic- to do otherwise.

(1,415 posts)I was a strong Hillary person and most of the people that I know that are strong Hillary people will support Bernie wholeheartedly .. So I don't think there is a prob with that. My friend of mine likes Trump but said he will support Bernie if Bernie is the nominee , he was a strong Hillary person too. I think Hillary is toasted. Bernie has the mo

(14,689 posts)But not really life a finger to help. McCaskill knows MO is going red, and only her shrewdness saved her in 2012. It's either a place in Clinton's cabinet, or she goes down with the likes of Blanch Lincoln and Mary Landrieu.
