Hillary Clinton makes forceful case for Iran nuclear deal

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/sep/09/hillary-clinton-backs-iran-nuclear-deal-it-is-no-longer-in-much-doubt

Hillary Clinton offered her most robust endorsement yet of the nuclear deal negotiated under the Obama administration between Iran and six world powers.

The former secretary of state made her case in a speech at the Brookings Institution in Washington DC on Wednesday, as the US Senate formally begins its debate on the accord in anticipation of a vote to disapprove the deal. Clinton, who stated her support for the agreement shortly after it was reached, elaborated on her position while emphasizing continued skepticism of the Iranian regime.

Clinton said the US faces a choice to either “move forward on a path to diplomacy or turn down more dangerous path leading to a far less certain and riskier future”.

The former secretary of state said the deal “blocks every pathway for Iran to get a bomb” and that it was “unrealistic” to get a better deal, as some opponents claimed was possible.

Since you rely on Betsy Woodruff's headline, I can see why you have "no sense" of it. SunSeeker Sep 2015 #11

Bernie may have "signaled" his support for the deal back in April, but Hillary actually helped put the deal together, years before Bernie put out his "signal":

As her former rival’s secretary of state, Clinton helped to launch the historic diplomacy with Iran.

Within the article itself, from Hillary's actual quotes, it is clear Hillary stated her support, but could not address all the details since she did not know them all yet:

“I applaud him and both Secretary Kerry and Secretary Moniz for their extraordinary efforts in bringing about this conclusion,” she continued. “Based on what I know now, and I will be being briefed as soon as I finish addressing you, this is an important step in putting the lid on Iran’s nuclear program.”

Buy hey, Betsy has a job to do: get clicks for the Daily Beast. Journalism? Meh.

It leaves even her closest aides unable to speak.

There is no sense that she has been leading publicly on this deal, until now, when it is a done deal.
