Hillary Clinton to be joined by Bill on campaign trail next week, reports say

Bill Clinton will return to the campaign trail next week to fundraise for his wife Hillary Clinton, as her campaign aims to turn the corner on what has shaped up to be a disappointing summer for the Democratic frontrunner, according to media reports.

The former president, who has been virtually absent from the 2016 campaign trail, will appear at a fundraiser in Chicago on 17 September, according to the New York Times and other media outlets.

His return comes as Hillary Clinton’s campaign attempts to turn the page after a summer that showed new vulnerabilities for a candidate whose victory in the Democratic primaries was once thought to be a foregone conclusion. For months, Clinton’s campaign has been dogged by her controversial decision to use a personal email server during her tenure as US secretary of state. She has also ceded ground to fellow Democratic contender Bernie Sanders, who has made gains on the frontrunner in New Hampshire and Iowa, while contending with the improbable candidacy of Donald Trump on the Republican side.

Clinton has struggled with how to respond to the long-simmering controversy over her email server following the revelation earlier this year that she had used a personal email account set up at her home in Chappaqua, New York, to conduct government business. Clinton was criticized for mocking the scandal surrounding her email system during a campaign event in Iowa last month, and for responding to a reporter’s question with a sarcastic retort asking if wiping a server was done “like, with a cloth or something”.

Bill's a not only a great campaigner, he's the living reminder of how good times were when he was president.

Democrats are far better at governing because Republicans are anti-government, except when they can shovel some tax payer dollars toward their own interests.

I don't think Hillary is. You obviously disagree and that is fine.
Hillary will lose in the general at the rate of lead balloon drop she is having now. If one is concerned about the survival of Democrats, one would consider other options than the balloon.

She/they can spend millions on ads to the media. Millions of Mad Men dollars, slick ads, phoney baloney ads selling you gadgets you know you don't need and certainly don't trust.

But word of mouth. One grampa from Big Sur ( with a lot of friends and relatives ) can Bernize. One mom who can hardly afford internet bills will take worth of words and spread them wide, and another one and another one. The GOP and Hillary are Old School. They are still thinking the Old Way.

The New Way is here, now.

Talking amongst ourselves without filters from the greedy mass media biased exactly to the big money Hillary and the GOP have.

For every action, there is a reaction. Nature provides.

His whistles in the run up to Super Tuesday made me climb the walls. I voted for him twice and I still look at a photo and feel anger. He led the charge, in my mind and this is the very reason I have a really hard time being okay if she is the nominee. I have been told to "get over it" but my heart fell long and hard in that month.

Btw, We had a civil discussion and I never told you to "get over it". We parted with a mutual understanding.

As far as Bernie is concerned, I believe he is an intelligent, well meaning person. I may have told you so then. Note this for your records:I have never attacked him personally and never will. I'd vote for him if he's our nominee, but I don't like his chances against the Clinton Machine.

Thanks for saying "hi" in your way.

Bill was on the trail for her plenty and it was the closest primary in history that didn't go to convention. That's because she's stand up and wouldn't do that to the party's chances. Obama, who I supported, only won with superdelegates.

We were told that she has barely started campaigning and already bringing in Bill? I don't know folks, it seems like the trends are starting to take hold and the Hillary camp is scrambling.

I think a little caution should be taken as to how much he is visible/speaking. I imagine he will just be physically there for a bit then perhaps start to do some interviews/speeches which might backfire. I don't know, I think it's a bold political move and I respect that, but it may be bold in desperation.
