How many blacks can you count in a picture at a Sander's fundraiser or event ...

these are posts we have seen in the last the few days.

Truth be told these types of posts have been slowing gaining ground on DU for well over a year when 'the old, white men just need to get out of the way' posts began.

How many Jews (yes there was a comment about Jews supporting/ not supporting Sanders) and then shall we expand on how many Latinos, gay people are there in a particular picture or at a certain event.

Is there anything wrong with this picture?

Old sayings remain because they have some truth. Divide and conquer remains as true today and it did thousands of years ago.

Instead I will look forward and try to adhere what Sander's says in every speech ... if we stay united we, the majority of people, can win. We cannot gain ground for people, and ultimately as a nation, if we divide people by race, religion or sexual orientation.

Disagreeing on issues is not hate, just because someone voices a contrary opinion to someone who is of another race, religion or sexual preference does not mean that I, or anyone, hates them for who they are, where they were born or their beliefs.

Continuing the divide along lines that are not easily changed will not help.

Josh Earnest is an Obama spokesperson and here's what he has to say about Bernie's campaign:

MR. EARNEST: Well, I think the President has in the past spoken positively about Senator Sanders and certainly his service in the United States Senate. He is somebody who over the last several months, as all of you have noted, has been able to attract large, fired-up crowds of Democrats. That’s a good thing for the party. And the President is pleased that there is some enthusiasm and excitement on display about a variety of candidates in the Democratic field. And that’s going to lead to a robust debate and it’s going to lead to a strong general election candidate in the Democratic Party, and the President is pleased about that.

and there used to be more discussion of votes taking place in Congress, there was a Congress forum which I thought should be on the main page.

DU was always a mixed bag of current happening in Congress, news and discussion.

How many years since you've read in GD 'call your Senator or Rep right now' on a particular issue with a link to a bill they were voting on ...oh well. Times are a changing ... working for better times ahead. Sanders wants everyone engaged, that old Congress forum might need to take center stage.

I hate the divisiveness that started to creep into DU over a year ago and I ignored it to some extent, although I did think it would cause trouble in the days ahead.

Question is, how long do you remain silent when sensing an injustice.

As an African American and I'm sick of establishment poltics.
I supported B.O in 08 because he was the aleternative to HRC and 12' because I didn't want a republican president

It's time for America to get expose to the idea that wall st is doesnt control our government, and the same old trickle down economics has been a failure especially for African Americans.

It's not going to be easy and no matter who president ,and won't be able can do it alone.
It will take the American people to wake up and put the power back into their hands.
A political awakening is needed and Sen. Sanders in my opinion is the best person to lead it.

2010 and 2014 midterm elections were failure on the part of DNC and its leaders.
The excuse that because it is midterms turnout favors Republican is a defeatist mentality .Instead you saw candidates running from President and fail!!

Liberal issues win elections centrist /middleground issues don't

After the very first rally in Vermont, Sanders and his supporters were all white liberals out of touch with poc.

It was bullshit then. It is bullshit now.

Thank you for recognizing it and speak out against it!

a year ago with posts against old, white liberals and not many spoke out at that time, but you are correct that those seeds grew in the first rally Sander's had in Vermont.

He did not bus in the appreciate amount of black folks, damned if you and damned if you don't.

We can recognize the injustices against poc without digging deeper to try and drive a wedge between people.

There should be a place where we can unite for a common good. As Sander's says repeatedly we need to stand together to defeat the moneyed interests.

Yes, BS then and now.

Thanks.
