I'm wondering how you'd advise a Republican candidate. Address the rampant inflation brought about by Obama's budget deficits? Address the skyrocketing unemployment rate now that the Bush tax cuts for the "job creators" were partially repealed? Address the death panels by which the ACA is denying care to seniors seemed unworthy? Address Obama's imposition of Sharia law?

Each of these lines of attack will run into a teensy little problem. With abortion, at least they have some factual basis; Roe v. Wade really did invalidate many state laws against abortion. Plus, of course, they can be confident that the base will eat it up.

8. Thanks for posting. That's amazing.

When I wrote, "Each of these lines of attack will run into a teensy little problem," the teensy little problem was that a Republican prediction had turned out to be flatly and demonstrably false. For example, I assumed that DUers would know that the unemployment rate has not been skyrocketing, but is actually several percentage points lower than it was when Obama took office. I mean, come on, you may not know whether this morning's LIBOR was up or down, you may not even know what LIBOR is, but of course anyone who follows public affairs would at least know that unemployment has gone down since the Bush recession, right? Right?

I stand appropriately chastened. I'll try to remember to dumb down my posts in the future so that even the likes of Juror #7 can catch on. (Unless Juror #7 was himself/herself being sarcastic, in which case the joke's on me.)
