Sanders surges past Hillary among college students

Sanders surges past Hillary among college students

A new poll released by Chegg Media Center on Tuesday finds Sanders the overwhelming favorite on college campuses, drawing 59 percent of the student vote.
Former first lady Hillary Clinton, considered the Democratic favorite going into the election, draws just 18 percent support from the coveted college bloc, while Vice President Biden — who is yet to commit to a presidential run — sits at 14 percent support among university students.

The poll also shows that Clinton and Biden are deadlocked at 29 percent for students’ second choice in the Democratic primary.

Sanders has the highest favorability rating among Democrats at 62 percent, while Clinton is seen as the most unfavorable, with 47 percent of students expressing disapproval of the former secretary of State.

The same poll conducted in late June, about a month after Sanders announced his White House bid, found that students preferred Clinton by a 40 to 26 percent margin.

However, the junior senator from Vermont has steadily increased his lead among university-goers.

Also, they don't consider themselves as being on some "D" team. Should be interesting.

they did for Obama in 2008. This election is basically life or death for this country, and I'm sure they must see that.

There was a big push (by Republicans, of course) in our state of Iowa to require showing of an Iowa driver's license in order to vote. There are many out-of-state college students in our state--at University of Iowa, Iowa State, Drake University, Grinnell and others. They were trying to make college IDs inadequate to vote.

I don't think this went down in my state, but they're trying shit like this all over the country. They do it when elections are far off, so people fail to grasp the horrible impact for populist/liberal candidates.

There are a TON of liberals at these colleges and universities. If these out-of-state students can't vote it could drastically impact our primary and the GE.

and cant get home, they should be able to do an absentee mail-in ballot with their home state. many college students keep their residency in the original home state and don't bother to change it. So they shouldn't have too much of a problem as long as they get those absentee ballots on time.
