"It's the only game in town." - William "Canada Bill" Jones

"William "Canada Bill" Jones (c.1840-1880) was a noted confidence artist, riverboat gambler and card sharp. He has been described as "without doubt the greatest three-card-monte sharp ever to work the riverboats, perhaps the greatest of them all."

"Yeah, but it's the only game in town!" - on being told by George Devol that a Faro game in Cairo, Illinois was crooked."

That's how I feel about our current politics and political parties.
It's a rigged game, and we can't beat the house.
The "house" being BIG money that finances politicians' campaigns.

I will vote Democratic because I think that party is slightly less beholden to the BIG money.
By a constantly shrinking margin.

I will support Senator Sanders because he is the only one in the race, so far, that I see trying to change the rigged game.

<sigh>
It's the only game in town.

getting donations and doesn't have as much money as they expected to have. People are now choosing to give their money to the candidates THEY choose, no longer willing to allow the DNC, especially considering who the chair is and how little she respects them, to choose for them. They already lost us the House and Senate, and if DWS has anything to do with it, they will lose the WH also.

However, it may be the only game in town for now. But there are more of us than there are of them and the ONLY REASON they have the power they have is because WE gave it to them.

And we can take it away from them. All it will take is enough people refusing to play their game anymore, and setting up a new game, one where the people CAN win.
