2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe real reason Clinton supporters are being called
1) Mindless foot soldiers of the DNC
2) who are fixated upon gender identity
3) as well as being DINOs
4) and War hawks
5) and Infatuated (with their goddess aka the You Know What of You Know Where, won't say the word but it rhymes with "travel on"
6) Dirty tricksters
is because name calling is one of the most popular sports in the Democratic Party primary!

(29,257 posts)that it is the Sanders supporters, by far, who are the more demonized ones, while Sanders supporters legitimately tend to restrict their criticism to the actual candidate.

For instance, call for more debates, just to be fair. Just to bend over backwards to be fair. What do you have to lose? If your candidate is truly superior, she will win anyway. If not, she never deserved to win in the first place.

(90,335 posts)... liberal tenant can be adhered to without compromise to the T.
They're bedazzled by the Captain Obvious statements of "we should's" vs the "here's how I'm going to do this" cause talking with a vein coming out of ones head is more effective in making them feel like progress has happened than actual progress (which they'll complain about anyway)
They've also been convinced the last person who said anything like the aforementioned was really a corporatist who is paid by the establishment to stoke the left into voting for him.
There's no doubt a since of entitlement in the air...

(13,616 posts)it is funny how people can talk as if they are defending women, but fail to realize that for all her bluster, Hillary's actions have gotten a lot of women hurt. The problem is, they are the ones easy to ignore, like women working at low wage because they are not allowed to unionize, teachers that have been branded as witches by charter schools advocates, or wives and daughters of Veterans. The sad fact is, when many talk about how great for women Hillary will be, they imagine reflections of themselves, and not the women they are used to walking past on a daily basis.

(57,349 posts)So tired of people who dismiss Bernie as an "old white guy" and forget that they're supporting a rich white woman whose record on civil rights is inferior to his.
Bernie's always had our back.

(13,616 posts)And I say that as one of the Latinos she "owns" because they are going to put up Castro as a VP. Really Hillary is he the only Latino you know?
Look MC, though I cannot speak for everyone, I know that myself and others I know, as much as they have serious questions about Hillary, will vote to make whoever the GOP puts in there LOSE period. What we do not like is the ideas that Hillary gets to reach out from those people whose money she wants, the same people that on Election Night will whisper in her ear "Okay Hillary, you won, now ditch the baggage." There will be people thrilled that there is LGBT rights, but also know that the assault on Unions and overall wages will continue riding into high gear. There will be minorities happy that some bigot like Trump got kept out, but who notice that does not change the "last hired, first fired" policy. Yes, Civil rights need to be protected, augmented AND advanced well beyond the comfort zone of the majority, BUT, if the majority can get their way by keeping most of us poor and unemployed, or simply make more money moving jobs abroad or using and H1b visa, then we will not be able to maintain what civil rights we fought for.

Major Hogwash
(17,656 posts)It gets tiresome.
The other thing that really struck out at me this year was when smart people starting calling other DU members names.
That was kind of a surprise.
And not a good one.
It changed my opinion of those people, quite a bit in some cases.
Oh, well, there's always 2020.

Well, what else could they be but CORPORATE SIGNS, LOL. Done by corporate professionals -- according to one BS supporter!! Hence the teenage girls were also corpo dem, neoliberal fascists. I was going to post a response to that but didn't waste my time. too ridiculous, too much nonsense...
