Orders pouring in for Lil' Bernie Sanders dolls

Orders pouring in for Lil' Bernie Sanders dolls hand sewn by Ludlow seamstress Emily Engel

Engel, 31, who opened up shop in Ludlow in 2013, said she decided to sell the dolls so she could contribute to the Bernie Sanders campaign.

The dolls are one foot tall, and six inches wide. The doll's eyes are made of black hook buttons and the clothing and glasses are handmade. The doll is stuffed with polyester fiberfill.

To purchase a doll, send Engel an email at ebx.inc@gmail.com. And an $80 payment via Paypal.

Pretty good likeness. This is going to kill it on eBay if Mr. Sanders wins.

And the Vermont Bernie Bear.

But they're both $80 and any extra cash I get, I give directly to Bernie, myself.

I guess I'll have to ask Santa for one for Christmas. LOL.

... that came out a decade ago

I guess someone made a Trump "Darth Vader" doll earlier...

Another "interesting" one...

I still have one his talking dolls that I won at a Dave and Busters party once back then. I really would like to find a way to hack the audio chip in it in a "redoable fashion" so that we can have him say a lot of good stupid things and have him in effect speak for himself when going door to door and getting out the vote!

Just noticed that there's a nutcracker Hillary doll too. Not sure how her being a "nutcracker" fits the campaign or not, but interesting here...

There was one earlier done of Obama too that looks to also have been made by a RWer company, that also wasn't too complimentary, so perhaps we can still find a way to warp the Trump doll...

Bernie doll looks the most friendly to all of us Americans! Perhaps I'll get one soon.

Is in poor taste. I guess Mr. Clinton earned the corkscrew one. The Obama doll shows why there's no right wing equivalent of the Daily Show. Humor is not their strong point.

... to note that it looked like some right wingers were making these dolls in poor humor attempts as you said.

But if there can be dolls made in poor taste about our Democrats, it seems like we should be able to find some way to hack a good Trump talking doll bad apple in case he wins...

Though Hillary the candidate isn't my choice and I have had differences with Obama on a bunch of his stuff, these dolls are not ones we should be paying attention to in a race like we should perhaps trying to hack a Donald Trump doll to say something things that will illustrate and expose his lunacy now... Or for that matter maybe getting a Bernie doll for those who need someone to love!

My mindset was just trying to get over the unfortunate discussion I had with another DUer on how Bernie's supporters aren't racist for what they've done with BLM, and that it was a racist (or at least minimally bigoted or poor taste) comment that one activist had saying a crowd of progressives were "white supremacists". One feels one has to set the record straight at times, but it seems like those discussions never have a useful ending to them. Probably should avoid them down the road.

9. Not to turn a thread about a doll into a discussion about race

I think we should speak about BLM with care and consideration. Do I agree that the assembled crowd were white supremacists? I do not. Do I think white liberals have done a satisfactory job delivering for people of color? Absolutely not. Do I think interrupting a speech by someone I want to be president to talk about black people being killed in the United States is wrong? I have to condede that I do not. It's literally a life-and-death problem.

The best thing we can do as supporters of Mr. Sanders is to follow his lead. He's responded to the BLM incident by engaging, listenening, and adopting a racial justice message into his campaign. I would note that his campaign is better for it.

I don't think Bernie supporters are racist, though I do think it's a fair criticism that a lot of the responses to BLM have been at least tonedef and in some cases ugly. Not all of them, but some of them for sure.

Rather than spending time setting the record straight or telling BLM who they should be protesting or what tactics to use, I think the best use of our effort is to point out that we agree with the goals of BLM, and like Mr. Sanders, we want to listen and figure out what we need to do to make our movement work for everyone. To the few in our midst that are out of line, the best way to bring them back is by example.

I think it's hard to have an argument about Sanders supporters being racist if we all follow Bernie's lead.

PJ O'Rourke used to be funny when he was just a conservative but drifted into batshit libertariansm and traded all his once-formidable comic edge for sheer meanness.
